Water Wheel

The Grade 3 students of SDK 6 PENABUR made WATER WHEELS. These water wheels were made from recycable materials. They used an empty 1500 mL aqua bottle, midrib (lidi), circular styrofoam and an aqua glass half-filled with water. From all the cited trashed materials, these students were able to create and demonstrate how a water wheel works and generates energy.

After they constructed each part and assembled it fully, they enjoyed spinning the wheel by pouring water on it. Until, their enjoyment and curiosity turned into a more scientific observation.

“Woow! As I lift the aqua glass with water higher and pour it down, the wheel spins fast,” Kristoff shouted.

“Yes! And when it is nearer to the wheel, the speed slows down,” Patrick exclaimed.

These all mean that as they poured water from different heights, it makes difference to the wheel’s speed. And it generates more energy.
